Worlds of Wonder Inc. said it was unable to pay a $3.6-million interest payment and might become delinquent on the loan. The struggling high-tech toy company, the maker of the Lazer Tag and Teddy Ruxpin toys, has a 30-day grace period to make the semiannual payment due to Bankers Trust Co. on subordinated debt sold last June. Worlds, which initially enjoyed meteoric growth, has been battered by declining sales of key products. Last month, the Fremont, Calif.-based company instructed management to pursue financing alternatives, including a possible merger. The move followed its announcement of a loss in the six months ended Sept. 30 of $53.5 million.
