Mater Dei leading 19-14 in third quarter

Well, that was quick.

That’s what happens when Orange Lutheran has a playmaker, such as wide receiver Victor Blackwell. He produced instant offense in the six-play, 80 yard opening drive in the second half.

His 65-yard catch that carried the Monarchs from their 18-yard line to the Lancers’ 17-yard line showcased his quickness in eluding tacklers. His 15-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Max Wittek showcased his quickness in route running.

Mater Dei couldn’t convert on its two-point conversion so the Monarchs have a 19-14 lead with 10:01 remaining in the third quarter.
