Football: LB Poly defense holds

On the first offensive play of the game, Long Beach Poly running back Michael Simmons fumbled, and Lakewood recovered on the Poly 11.

But the Lancers could not move the ball, and gave it back on a fourth-down incompletion. It was not a productive start for Lakewood’s offense, which was called for three illegal procedure penalties.
