Bell is seeded No. 1 for City Invitational boys’ basketball playoffs

Bell (16-6) was awarded the top seed for the City’s Invitational Division boys’ basketball playoffs, followed by No. 2 University (18-12), No. 3 Venice (14-14) and No. 4 North Hollywood (20-7).
First round games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday. The matchups:
No. 1 Bell (16-6), bye
No. 17 Kennedy at No. 16 Huntington Park
No. 24 El Camino Real at No. 9 Narbonne (14-16)
No. 8 Eagle Rock (10-6), bye
No. 5 Granada Hills (13-13), bye
No. 21 Franklin (9-16) at No 12 Grant (13-15)
No 20 Wilmington Banning (9-17) at No. 13 Verdugo Hills (15-10)
No. 4 North Hollywood (20-7), bye
No. 3 Venice (14-14), bye
No. 19 Sun Valley Poly (10-17) at No. 14 Garfield (10-14)
No. 22 Bravo at No. 11 Reseda (12-14)
No. 6 Los Angeles Roosevelt (17-5), bye
No. 7 Santee (17-4), bye
No. 23 San Pedro (10-17) at No.10 Locke (10-16)
No. 15 San Fernando (9-13) at No. 18 Arleta (17-7)
No. 2 Los Angeles University (18-12), bye
Even though Arleta is seeded at No. 18, it will be the home team in its contest because it is the Valley League champion and San Fernando is the fifth-place team in the Valley Mission League.
