When Thursday began, Crespi had full control of it destiny. It seemed pretty easy: Celtics win and they take home the Mission League title.
But it’s obvious they didn’t win. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have written ‘Ouch’ in the headline.
Crespi (12-4-6, 7-1-4) lost its first league game of the season in the season finale to Harvard-Westlake, 3-0. The loss, coupled with St. Francis’ 5-0 victory over Notre Dame on Wednesday, gives the league title to the Golden Knights (20-5-2, 9-1-2).
To make matters worse, Crespi had beaten St. Francis last week, 1-0.
