Considering there’s been so much talk about recruiting lately, suppose we should mention Cierre Wood, one of the top prospects in the Class of 2009. The running back from Santa Clara has had the luxury of simply sitting back and watching things unfold over the past week or so, but he figures to be the center of attention this time next year.

Wood has scholarship offers on the table from a dozen NCAA Division I schools from across the country, with powerhouse programs such as Notre Dame, Florida and USC highlighting the list of interested parties. These quotes, right here, indicate there’s no front-runner at this stage and no plans for an early commitment. You better believe it’s only a matter of time though....
