It’s good to see players from the Quartz Hill boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will be displaying their talents in college.

Senior midfielder Logan McDaniel, who I just blogged about a few days back, signed with Loyola Marymount on Wednesday. He also had offers from Cal State Northridge and UC Irvine. The 2007 All-Golden League standout will play alongside former Highland star Sharif Khatib.

‘Logan McDaniel is a super-quick left-footed player who brings a great deal of skill, flair, and creativity to our team in a forward or wide midfield role,’ Loyola Marymount Coach Paul Krumpe said in a release.

Also playing in collegiate ranks will be senior defender Karleigh Johnson, who signed with Abilene Christian University. Johnson is part of a formidable Quartz Hill defense that has surrendered one goal in 13 league games heading into Thursday/tonight’s Golden League title decider with Highland.
