Hoover football Coach Dennis Hughes was dismissed on Wednesday after a 15-year career at the Glendale-based school. Principal Kevin Welsh said it was ‘time to go in a new direction’ with the football program.
Hughes’ teams went 30-118-3 during his two-stint career (1986-96, 2004-07) and the Tornadoes finished 0-10 this season after posting a 1-9 record in 2006.
Here’s what Grant Gordon over at the Glendale News Press had to say about Hughes’ career.
